High School Musical 2

1. "What Time Is It?" (DL) - First single to be released off of the High School Musical 2 Soundtrack. Pretty cool song, though a bit to much Troy/Zac and Gabriella/Vanessa, I'd love to hear more of the rest of the cast.

2. "Bet On It" (DL) - Troy's/Zac's solo single of the upcoming Disney Channel movie. Not what I expected it to be, more of a regular song than a song that could be used in a movie. I love the song nevertheless.

1. "You are the Music in Me" (DL) - Troy and Gabriella's duet. I love the song and after hearing Bet On It and What Time is It? I wasn't that sure about Zac's vocal capabilities, though I love this song that much that I'm convinced.

Rihanna; Good Girl Gone Bad

This is Rihanna's third album in two years time.

1. "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z) (DL) - Her first single off of this album. It's edgier and different from any songs of her last two albums.
2. "Push Up on Me" (DL) - This song has a great beat and it got stuck in my head. Would do great in clubs.
3. "Don't Stop the Music" (DL) - Definitely my favorite on the album. This song should do great in clubs with its beats and dance feeling.
4. "Breakin' Dishes" (DL) - Different though it fits the album, not that RnB or Pop or Dance or whatever. Got stuck in my head and great if you feel like dancing.
5. "Shut Up and Drive" (DL) - This is her second album and it got leaked a while ago and I loved it ever since. It's edgy and so not like what I'm used of her.
6. "Hate That I Love You" (featuring Ne-Yo) (DL) - Their voices really blend together and they sound awesome together. Though the entire album is different and I don't think this song fits the album. It is a great ballad nevertheless.
7. "Say It" (DL) - This is a little sugercoating song, Rihanna's voice sounds sweet though there is a small 'jingle' in the back that annoys me (SOS also had an annoying jingle). Typical girl song.
8. "Sell Me Candy" (DL) - I like the chorus and the bridges, though not my favorite on the album.
9. "Lemme Get That" (DL) - I love this song, more like her previous two albums and it shows somewhat of a reggea beat. Her voice sounds weird, though the song overall sounds awesome.
10. "Rehab" (DL) - Nice balad, I really like how she sounds and I just like this song. Justin T helped with this song/background vocals and I think it actually shows...a good song it is.
11. "Question Existing" (DL) - Don't like the beat and the vocals and well, I don't like this song.
12. "Good Girl Gone Bad" (DL) - I heard that someone thought this sounded like Beyonce's Irreplaceable. I don't hear it... I love this song and I think the lyrics/meaning behind the song is really cool.
13. ''Haunted'' (DL) - A bonus ballad. I think ballads are great for Rihanna though I'm not particulary fond of this song.

Out of 5 (five) stars, I'd give this album 4 (four) stars.

Hairspray Movie - edited with more songs -

Recently two new songs off of the Hairspray 2007 Movie hit the Internet. A two-something-minutes sample of ''You Can't Stop the Beat'' and ''Run and Tell That''. ''Ladies Choice'' is their supposedly first offficial single seeing as how there's a video and song available to download (on iTunes).

I can't wait for the movie (in theatres July 20th) and these two released singles sure got me even more excited.

''You Can't Stop the Beat'' (DL) - Sung by: Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron and Queen Latifah.

I didn't know whether or not I would like this song because I fell in love with the original Broadway cast performing the song and I thought it would be hard to beat.
-Nikki's (Blonsky) voice is amazing and I thought it really suited the role of Tracy and this song. Soft and strong and more modern and definitely different than the original, in a positive way.
-You don't hear that much of Zac, but I think he proved himself already with Ladies Choice. I still think Zac hasn't got the best voice though I do think it suits Link.
-Queen Latifah..., I really LOVED hearing her. Period.
Unfortunately it is a sample, like I said. We don't hear Penny (Amanda Bynes) and Seaweed (Elijah Kelley). I'm not sure if the VonTussles (Brittany Snow and Michelle Pfeiffer) are going to sing aswell as Tracy's mom (John Travolta), they aren't credited on the Soundtrack (Brittany S/Michelle P) so I guess we just have to wait and find out. The song got me excited and I sure can't wait to hear the real deal.

EDIT
a newer version of 'You Can't Stop the Beat' has been leaked and this time it features Penny(Amanda), Seaweed(Elijah) and Edna(John).
''You Can't Stop the Beat'' (DL2) - Sung by: Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Elijah Kelley, John Travolta and Queen Latifah.
First.. what happend to ''I am now a checkerboard chick!'' - shocked -
I don't know whether or not I like 'Penny'/Amanda, I think it's pretty cool that she is singing though! and well yeah, John T is absolutely amazing, can't wait to see him 'in action'. I still don't know whether or not this is the real deal or another edited version, let's hope we get to hear the von Tussles!

''Run and Tell That'' (DL) - Sung by: Elijah Kelley

That man sure got a great voice, you can hear it the moment he starts singing. I also love the meaning of the song (and basically the story of the entire movie). His voice is strong and powerfull and gives a great twist to the original recording. The original sounds more mature (in some way) though I don't mind Elijah Kelleys voice, because it sounds great in its own way. The girl, little Inez, sounds awesome aswell (Taylor Parks though she isn't credited on the Soundtrack).

''Ladies Choice'' (DL) - Sung by: Zac Efron

After HSM I was kinda unsure whether or not Zac E. could actually sing. He CAN sing though I have to admit that I don't think he is the strongest singer. His voice sounds great and I absolutely love the song, Zac should always be an actor that happens to be able to sing.. rather than a singer that acts. Ladies Choice is the first official release of the Hairspray soundtrack and a new added song to the movie. I sure like it.

''Without Love'' (DL) - Sung by: Zac Efron, Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelly and Amanda Bynes
''Welcome to the Sixties'' (DL) - Sung by: Nikki Blonsky and John Travolta
''the New Girl in Town'' (DL) - Sung by: Britanny Snow and others
''Nicest Kids in Town'' (DL) - Sung by: James Marsden and others
''Goodmorning Baltimore'' (DL) - Sung by: Nikki Blonsky

Check out the official website, myspace and blog of Hairspray, in theatres July 20th (check your local cinema if you life abroad).

first post

Hello everybody!

You might (but probably won't) recognize me from a previous music site. Dramafreemusic.blogspot.com. Lori opened that site hoping that she was able to share her favorite music and let everybody know and listen to the latest music, she invited me to join because... well because we both made some comments on the forum and thought it would be great to do together. Everything said and done, we had a musicblog which turned out to be more like an online limewire. Our initial idea to share our favorite music went away as soon as more people took the songs rather than commenting and thanking us.

It is now closed and I decided to start something new and as soon as I notice it won't go as planned I'll close it before you can say... uhm?.. figure it out yourself.

I'm going to review music and let everybody know MY favorite music (my taste in music is HUGE so no worries!). Every week there will be a couple of posts with the latest music and my review, ofcourse you'll be able to download the songs I'm talking about. The main idea is that you guys PARTICIPATE and SHARE your own REVIEWS with me. I thought that I should get AT LEAST three comments on the post before I'll even upload the songs to the post. Great idea right? You participate and you'll be rewarded. I am sure going to ask Lori to 'help' me because well... she is awesome!

Kevin

p.s. if it has '' (DL) '' behind the name of the song, that means you can DownLoad it.
